Event Details:-
The UK’s most colourful and entertaining event returns this summer to London! - The whole of London will be unable to resist the temptation of making their way to Gunnersbury Park, W3 on Sunday 13th August 2006 from 12pm to 9:30pm for the much anticipated London Mela Entertainment acts have travelled from across the globe to join in the celebrations including Pakistan’s Atif Aslam, making his first UK appearance is Pascal of Bollywood, a Frenchman who went to Bollywood and came back a singing sensation, and Chirag Pechchan who will perform with Amarjit Sidhu and Mangal Singh. Other acts include Ajay, Hard Kaur, Menis Nazza and Brit Asia duo, Bobby and Nihal from Radio 1. Community activities and information will mix together with sports events, family fun, interactive workshops and storytelling with Kaleidoscope Project and bazaars.

The London Mela – one of Europe’s largest South Asian outdoor festivals – is a highlight of the capital’s cultural calendar. Established as the largest celebration of South Asian culture in Britain, with more than 75,000 people expected to attend, the London Mela is a lively and colourful one-day extravaganza, boasting dance, music, circus, comedy, art, street theatre and food from the Indian subcontinent.With ten zones, six stages and 450 artists spread across 30 acres, the Mela promises entertainment for everyone. Performances by established players will be complimented by local people taking part on the popular Community stage.
